Climate

Northwest Georgia’s climate is classified as humid continental. There are four distinct seasons in Floyd County, with some of the best weather in the spring and fall months. Although winters are colder in northwestern Georgia than other parts of the state, they are not severe. Some winter snowfall occurs. The average high in the summer months is in the upper 80s with average lows around 70. The average highs in the winter months are in the mid-50s with average lows in the mid-30s. Annual rainfall is 54 inches.
