Location
Heartland Ridge sits in the heart of McLemore Cove in the northwest corner of Georgia. McLemore Cove is a beautiful V-shaped valley sandwiched between Lookout and Pigeon Mountains that stretches 15 miles and is comprised of rolling pastures, lush hayfields, tall silos, shady country lanes, and wildflowers. The state and the National Register of Historic Places have recognized the cove’s uniqueness, declaring it the McLemore Cove Historic District, encompassing 50,000 acres in Walker County. It is the largest of Georgia’s eight rural historical districts.
The property’s address is in Chickamauga, Georgia, a small community approximately 20 miles to the north-east. Chickamauga is a town steeped in history and determined to maintain its local and friendly atmosphere. The town is affectionately referred to as “Mayberry,” and its mission statement is “Focusing on Quality Growth, Preservation, and Community Values.” Chickamauga reflects the old days and a simpler way of life.
Heartland Ridge is only 40 minutes from downtown Chattanooga. McLemore Club: Internationally recognized golf course architects, Rees Jones and Bill Bergin, redesigned the private 18-hole course at McLemore, making it an acclaimed golf course with grand mountain views “above the clouds”. McLemore Club is in construction on their second 18-hole course and in 2024 are opening a Hilton brand hotel. McLemore also offers some nice dining options.
McLemore Cove Farms & Crockford Pigeon Mountain WMA: Just a few minutes form the property, this 20,000-acre state and county-owned land offers convenient access to lots of outdoor recreation. Miles of trails offer endless opportunities to horseback ride, mountain biking, and hiking. Pigeon Mountain has many limestone formations, which have become a destination among elite rock climbers, and the Pocket at Pigeon Mountain is among the finest areas for wildflowers in Georgia.
Cloudland Canyon State Park: Located on the western edge of Lookout Mountain, this is one of the most scenic parks in the state of Georgia, offering rugged geology and beautiful vistas. The park straddles a deep gorge cut into the mountain by Sitton’s Gulch Creek, and elevation differs from 800 to 1,980 feet. A day spent hiking, picnicking, and sightseeing makes for a wonderful time. Heartland Ridge is only 25 minutes from this 3,500-acre state park.

Located in the humid subtropical zone of the United States, this area has a mild and pleasant climate with four distinct seasons. Spring begins in March with mild days and cool nights, while late May sees an increase in temperature, marking the start of warm summer days. On average, July is the warmest month of the year. During the summer months, there is usually more rainfall than at other times of the year, and the area has an average annual rainfall of 53 inches. Fall is characterized by mild to warm days and cooler nights, while winter is typically mild, with the coldest days featuring lows near or slightly above freezing and highs in the upper 40s to mid-50s. Snowfall is sporadic, with an average annual accumulation of around three inches.
